New Hot Caps For Steel Posts FENCING Fence Systems 8-5-2 Livestock owners will like these new rounded electric fence insulators that fit over the top of steel posts, protecting animals from lacerations and other injuries.
The inventor, Leslie Hubbell, Parker, Colo., says horse owners have shown the most interest in the polyethylene, weather-resistant caps which pound onto the top of steel "t" posts for a tight fit. Hubbell says horses or other animals can't pop Hot Caps off but they can be removed with a hammer.
Each 2¢-in. long cap is self-insulating and has an over/under clip for holding electric wire. The clip can be positioned on either side of the post.
Hot Caps sell for 75 cents each. A box of 100 sells for $65.
